ALBANY — Both the Deerfield-Windsor tennis teams scored victories Monday over Westwood at Darton State College.
In boys action, the Knights defeated Westwood 3-2 to improve their record to 5-2 on the season.
Deerfield-Windsor No. 1 singles player Brandon O’Brien defeated Westwood’s Cole Pollock 6-0, 6-2, while Cohen Bonner defeated Westwood’s Akshay Patel at No. 2 singles, 6-0, 6-1. Meanwhile, Deerfield-Windsor’s Porter Hill defeated Walt Cochran 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3. Deerfield-Windsor’s Rob Pilcher defeated Jason Pham 7-5, 6-1 at No. 4.
But Westwood took both matches in doubles play. The Wildcats’ No. 1 doubles team of Godwin/Allen defeated Deerfield’s team of Reed Reynolds and Tyler Lowe 6-1, 6-4 at No. 1, while the No. 2 team of Tucker/Johnson defeated Deerfield-Windsor’s Fletcher Cromartie and Bo Williams 6-2, 7-5, (7-4).
The Deerfield-Windsor girls also improved their record to 5-2 on the season.
Sarah Perrine had no trouble with Westwood’s Morgan Godwin at No. 1 singles with a 6-3, 6-1 victory. Stephanie Mathes defeated Westwood’s Erin Smith at No. 2 singles, 6-2, 6-0, while Deerfield’s Emma Reed defeated Sydney Singleton 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3.
In doubles play, the Westwood No. 1 team of Smith/Coleman defeated Deerfield-Windsor’s Lilia Sullivan and Gabby Pinnero 4-6, 6-3 (10-6), while Westwood’s No. 2 team of Godwin/Allen defeated Deerfield-Windsor’s Rebekah Thomas and Haley Halford 6-3, 6-2.
The Deerfield-Windsor teams will be back in action on Thursday when they play at Brookwood.
