Skylar Diggins-Smith and Elizabeth Cambage combined for 46 points, and the Dallas Wings spoiled the return of Atlanta star Angel McCoughtry with a 101-78 rout of the visiting Dream on Sunday at College Park Center in Arlington, Texas.
Diggins-Smith finished 25 points, and Cambage scored 21 points and grabbed nine rebounds for the Wings, who bounced back from an opening loss to the Phoenix Mercury on Friday.
Karima Christmas-Kelly finished with 15 points and 10 rebounds, and Kaela Davis came off the bench to add 15 points for the Wings.
In her first game back since the 2016 season, McCoughtry finished with 15 points and reached the 5,000-point career milestone with a jumper in the fourth quarter.
McCoughtry sat out all of last season and decided to return to the Dream this season after Atlanta hired coach Nikki Collen to spark the franchise. Collen recruited McCoughtry at Louisville and will now try to team up with her again to make the Dream a contender. Atlanta missed the playoffs last season.
The Wings broke open a tight game in the second quarter. Dallas closed out the first half with a 22-6 run and took a commanding 59-37 lead into intermission. Cambage had 17 points to lead all scorers in the first half.
Tiffany Hayes, Brittney Sykes and Renee Montgomery each finished with 14 points for the Dream.
The teams combined to shoot 70 free throws, 42 by the Wings.
Dallas travels to the defending-champion Minnesota Lynx on Wednesday, the first of three straight road games that includes a rematch with the Dream on Saturday.
Atlanta will look to bounce back at the Chicago Sky on Wednesday.
