Falcons tight end Austin Hooper named to first Pro Bowl

Atlanta Falcons tight end Austin Hooper has been named to the Pro Bowl for the first time in his career, the team announced Wednesday morning.
Hooper replaces Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz, who withdrew with an injury.
The third-year tight end from Stanford set career highs in nearly every statistical category in 2018, totaling 660 yards and four touchdowns on 71 catches.
Among NFC tight ends, Hooper ranked third in receptions and receiving yards trailing only Zach Ertz and George Kittle. He was the most sure-handed tight end in the NFL, catching 80.7 percent of the 88 passes thrown his way – the highest catch rate of any tight end with more than 26 targets.
