Florida forward Keith Stone will miss the remainder of the season after tearing the ACL in his left knee on Saturday in the team’s win at Georgia, according to the university website.

Stone, a 6-foot-8 junior, was injured in the first half when he landed awkwardly after jumping and was carried to the locker room. An MRI exam on Sunday confirmed the diagnosis, and he is expected to have surgery.

“We’re really disappointed for Keith,” Gators coach Mike White said, per the website.

“Keith was having a really good game,” White said. “He made an unbelievable play going left. As athletic a play as I’ve ever seen him make. He was gaining confidence. He came off the bench with a good attitude. Hit a 3-ball. You just hate to see guys go down.”

Stone scored eight points in nine minutes on Saturday.

On the season, Stone appeared in all 17 games (13 starts) for the Gators, averaging 19.2 minutes and 6.1 points per game. His 67 rebounds are third on the team.
