Former Rays No. 1 overall pick Beckham — who was taken ahead of Posey in 2008 MLB Draft — banned 50 games for second drug violation
Tim Beckham was a risky pick by Tampa Bay in 2008, despite the fact he was a standout high school star at Griffin. Four years later, it appears the gamble has not paid off for the Rays as Beckham was banned for 50 games Tuesday for his second failed drug test.
