The Jefferson High School football program announced Monday night that it has hired former Southern University football player Devon Gales, who was paralyzed in a 2015 game against the Georgia Bulldogs, as an assistant coach.
UGA and its supporters have helped Gales with his recovery, including a handicapped accessible home in Jefferson.
“We are so proud to announce the addition of Devon Gales to our Dragon coaching staff,” the Jefferson football program posted on Twitter. “The former Southern University star will be a tremendous asset to our program.”
