Georgia Firebirds release indoor football schedule

ALBANY — The 2017 National Arena League football schedule was revealed on the league website, and the Georgia Firebirds will play one Monday, one Sunday and 10 Saturday games.
The Firebirds’ first contest is a home game on March 18 against the High Country Grizzlies. It’s followed by the first ever matchup between Georgia and former AFL power the Jacksonville Sharks. A game against an in-state opponent follows when the Firebirds visit the Columbus Lions on April 1.
Other home games include the Corpus Christi Rage on April 8, the Dayton Wolfpack on April 29, the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks on June 10 and Columbus on June 17.
Three of the last four games of the season will be in the friendly confines of the Albany Civic Center, with the Firebirds’ only road game coming against the Monterrey Steel in Mexico.
