ATHENS, Ga. — Freshman Lily Smith of the Georgia gymnastics team was named SEC Co- Freshman of the Week, the Southeastern Conference announced Tuesday.

This is the third SEC weekly honor for Smith, who also earned the distinction after weeks one and three.

Smith captured her first all-around title in her second meet competing all four events, totaling a 39.600, marking the highest all-around score from a Georgia freshman since Courtney Kupets in 2006.

She was also the high scorer on bars and floor against the Gators, taking home those event titles after scoring a 9.950 and 9.925, respectively on those two events. Her bars score pushed the GymDogs to their highest total in the event since the 2019 NCAA Athens Regional- a 49.500.

The Limerick, Pennsylvania native scored her season-best on vault with a 9.850 and her second-best on beam with a 9.875.

Smith and the GymDogs are home again this week against the LSU Tigers. The teams tumble into action on Friday, February 9 at 6:00 p.m. in Stegeman Coliseum and the meet will be broadcast live on the SEC Network.
