ALBANY, Ga. – A total of 129 Albany State student-athletes earned a place on the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for the fall 2018 semester. To make the honor roll, student-athletes must achieve a 3.0 grade-point average for the fall academic semester.

“I am very proud of what our scholar-athletes have achieved in the classroom, with 44 percent of them earning a 3.0 GPA or better this past fall,” said Director of Athletics Sherie Gordon.

“The AD’s honor roll was created as a way to celebrate their outstanding accomplishments,” added Gordon. “The success this semester is a testament to the dedication of our student-athletes, coaches, and support staff and serves as a clear illustration of our commitment to academic excellence.”

Football led the way for the 2018 fall semester with a total of 24 student-athletes on the honor roll, with baseball recording 18, women’s soccer tallying 14 and cheerleading 12. The other athletic programs with players on the honor roll included men’s basketball (7), men’s cross country (7), women’s cross country (1), men’s golf (7), softball (11), women’s tennis (3), men’s track & field (10), women’s track & field (6) and volleyball (6).

In addition, 13 Golden Rams earned a 4.0-grade point average during the fall 2018 semester.

The softball program had the top team grade point average with a combined 3.43 GPA.
