Golden Rams split doubleheader

Albany State University
Game 1
ASU fell behind 2-0 in the second inning behind an inside the park home run by Michele Donner and a RBI single by Shatima Rice.
It would be all Lauren Lowery would allow as the starting pitcher, backed by timely defense, shut out the Point offense the rest of the game.
Kendyl Davis got one of the runs back in the top of the 3rd inning with a RBI single to centerfield that scored Amaya Terry.
The two teams played scoreless ball from there until the top of the 7th when Lavette Tucker nailed a two-RBI double to deep center to give Albany State the lead and ultimately the win, 3-2.
Lowery (1-2) pitched a complete game to pick up her first win of the season.
Game 2
Albany State was unable to string together hits in the nightcap, spreading seven hits over seven innings and managing just one run.
Glory Seay recorded a RBI single that scored Davis for the Golden Rams only run of the game.
Aryn McGowan (0-3) pitched 6.0 innings in the loss, surrendering five runs on eight hits while striking out three batters.
ASU (1-5) play their first home games of the season on Friday, February 8th, when they host a doubleheader with Thomas University. First game is scheduled to start at 3:00 pm.
