Neck and neck after regulation Monday, Westover and Turner County’s baseball teams needed extra innings to decide a winner.
In the bottom of the 10th inning, Turner County scored to get the 3-2 win.
James Milliner and Nick Mitchum were the leading hitters for Westover. Both finished 2-for-4.
Davis Spalinger was the starting pitcher for the Patriots. In eight innings of work, he gave up five hits and two runs while striking out 15.
Baconton Charter 10, Terrell County 0
The Blazers picked up the big win after scoring ten runs on six hits while committing just one error.
Grant Smithwick finished 2-for-4 with three RBI. Jackson Bostick and Will Bush both finished with two RBI in the contest.
Bush was the winning pitcher in the no-hitter. He struck out nine in five innings.
Brandon Milton and Kentavious Carter both pitched two innings for Terrell County. Milton struck out three, while Carter struck out two.
Miller County 9-2, Pelham 2-12
After being tied at 2 after the first inning of Game 1, Miller County had a few big innings late to pull away from Pelham.
Doug Curles finished 1-for-2 with an RBI for Pelham. Cale Whigham recorded the Hornets’ second RBI.
Dylan Johnson was on the mound for Game 1 and struck out seven in seven innings while giving up two hits and two runs.
Game 2 saw the Hornets bounce back in a big way as seven different players recorded hits. The team finished with 13.
Curles finished with 4-for-4 with an RBI, while Payne Hunter, Gunner Wisham and John Russ IV each had two RBI.
Whigham was the winning pitcher in Game 2, giving up just two hits and two runs while striking out 11 in six innings of work.
