Jaden Upshaw plays in All-American game in Texas
Upshaw is a junior at Lee County High School.
LEESBURG — For a few days this weekend, Lee County’s Jaden Upshaw wasn’t just one of the Trojans. He was one of the nation’s best.
The junior wide receiver spent the weekend in San Antonio, Texas, competing in the prestigious U.S. Navy All-American Junior Game, an invitation-only showcase that brings together many of the top rising high school seniors from across the country.
Upshaw didn’t arrive in Texas as an unknown.

He currently holds 28 Division I scholarship offers, is rated a four-star wide receiver by 247Sports.com, and was selected to the Albany Herald’s Fantastic Fifteen before the start of the 2025 season — recognition reserved for the area’s top high school football prospects.
Upshaw earned the All-American invitation after a standout junior season for Lee County, where he emerged as one of the Trojans’ most dangerous and dependable offensive weapons. He finished the year with 47 receptions for more than 900 yards and eight touchdowns, helping Lee County to an 8-4 record and a trip to the state playoffs.
Those numbers only tell part of the story. Opposing defenses often built their game plans around trying to take Upshaw away, yet he continued to find ways to get open and make big plays downfield and after the catch.
In San Antonio, Upshaw went through practices and competed against elite defensive backs from around the country, measuring himself against players who, like him, are already being heavily recruited at the highest level.
For Lee County, Upshaw’s national recognition is another sign of the program’s ability to develop top-tier talent. For Upshaw, it’s simply another step in a journey that’s accelerating quickly.
With one high school season still ahead of him, he’ll return to Leesburg not only as the Trojans’ top returning receiver, but as one of the most closely watched prospects in Georgia.
If this season confirmed his status, the weekend in San Antonio made something else clear: Jaden Upshaw isn’t just a local star anymore — he’s a national one.
