ALBANY – Dougherty All-State guard Jatiana Chambers dominated Monday night’s region playoff game and led her team to a big 71-29 win over Crisp County in Albany. The win moves Dougherty into the semifinal round of the region tournament which was scheduled to be played at Carver High School in Columbus Wednesday night. The Lady Trojans were scheduled to face crosstown rival Monroe, the number two seed in the tournament.

Dougherty raced out to a 19-9 lead in the first quarter before Crisp County showed a little toughness in the second quarter and closed the gap to just 19-13 midway through the quarter. However, the Lady Trojans turned up the heat on a full-court press and Dougherty scored the final 18 points of the quarter to lead 37-13 at the break.

Dougherty extended the lead in the second half and cruised into the semifinal round and a guaranteed spot in the state playoffs.

Chambers recorded a rare triple-double – scoring 27 points, recording 18 steaks, 10 rebounds, and seven assists. Amiyah Jackson pulled off the double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds while Zamiya Mitchell added nine points.
