Lee County High School baseball standout Josh Hatcher verbally committed to play at Mississippi State Wednesday morning. The rising senior played first base and pitched for the Trojans last season, playing an integral role in helping Lee County win the Region 1-AAAAAA title and the second round of the Georgia High School Association state playoffs.

Hatcher had previously committed to Kennesaw State. He batted .347 with four homers, drove in 16 runs and scored 25. On the mound, the left-hander went 6-2 with a 1.69 ERA and struck out 42 in 33 innings.
