King leads Worth County over Brooks County with three hits, including homerun

Cason King would not be denied at the plate when runners were on base Wednesday, driving in four on three hits to lead the Worth County Rams past Brooks County 11-4. King drove in runs on a single in the fifth and a home run in the seventh.
Brooks County got things moving in the second inning, when Alex Munoz doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.
The Rams pulled away for good with three runs in the third inning. In the third Jeremiah Reddell grounded out, scoring one run and an error scored one run for the Rams.
Worth County put up four more runs in the fifth inning. Bryce Graddy, Worth Smith, Bailey Coker, and King all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
Jack Fletcher led the Rams to victory on the hill. He pitched five innings, allowing three hits and one run while striking out four and walking one. Coker and Griffin Melton entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
Munoz took the loss for Brooks County. He surrendered four runs on three hits over four innings, striking out two.
The big hitter for the day included King with three hits including the homer in the seventh inning.
The Rams totaled eight hits and Graddy also had multiple hits for the Rams. .
Munoz led Brooks County with two hits in three at-bats.
The Rams are now 10-1 on the season and will begin region competition Tuesday when they travel to Cordele to face Crisp County. First pitch is set for 5:30 p.m.
