ATHENS, Ga. — Bulldog head coach Kirby Smart has been named the Bear Bryant Awards Coach of the Week following Georgia’s 30-15 rout of No. 1 Texas in Austin, according to an announcement from the American Heart Association and presented by Accenture Tuesday.

Smart, whose UGA teams are now 3-1 versus top-ranked opposition, collected his 100th career win after holding the Longhorns to just 259 yards of total offense, including only 29 on the ground on 27 carries.  Trevor Etienne rushed for 87 yards and three touchdowns for a Georgia offense that shot out to a 23-0 halftime lead.  Smart’s Bulldogs have won 45 of their last 46 games, including 31 of its last 32 SEC regular season contests.

Following an off week this Saturday, No. 2 Georgia (6-1, 4-1 SEC) travels to Jacksonville, Fla., to play Florida (4-3, 2-2) on Nov. 2.  Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET and the ABC will televise the matchup.
