AMERICUS – The number on her jersey is 24 and that is what Deerfield Windsor’s junior point guard Lila Lanier scored against Brookwood Thursday afternoon at Georgia Southwestern College, but the Lady Warriors from Thomasville held on for the win 62-58. The loss knocked the Lady Knights out of the GISA Region 3-AAA tournament.

The first half was tight and Brookwood held a slight 24-21 lead at the half. The Lady Warriors built a bigger lead in the third quarter by outscoring the Lady Knights 24-15, but Deerfield Windsor turned things around in the final quarter and rallied as they tried to come back. The Lady Knights put in 22 fourth-quarter points and held Brookwood to 15, but it wasn’t quite enough as the Lady Warriors advanced to tomorrow’s region championship.

Emilee Foy was the only other Lady Knight in double figures with 14 points.

Brookwood was led by Erin Lewis with 23 points and Jordan Thompson with 15.
