LILBURN, Ga. — A three-run homer from Blessed Trinity’s Colin Davis helped the Titans defeat Lee County 5-2 Saturday evening in the championship game of the Georgia Peach Invitational at Parkview High School.

The Trojans made the championship game after defeating Marist on Friday, then by topping perennial state power Lambert 4-2 in a come-from-behind victory earlier on Saturday.

The Trojans are now 7-2 on the season.

Lee County and Blessed Trinity, the top-ranked team in Class AAAA, took turns holding the lead on Saturday. Lee tied the game twice. With the bases loaded in the sixth inning, Tyler McConnell walked to tie the game at 1.

Then in the top of the seventh with the Titans holding a 2-1 advantage, Brenton Phillips’ RBI single tied the game at 2. Phillips’ hit scored Jonathan Logsdon who led off with a single. Logsdon finished 2 for 4 at the plate.

Josh Hatcher, Lawrence Bryant, Malik Spratling and Garrett Suiter all singled, pacing the Trojans’ seven-hit attack.

Junior Gavin Paul pitched four strong innings and got a no-decision. Layne Wiard worked two innings before yielding to AJ Chavarria.

In the first game against Lambert, which was played at Loganville High School, Reid Hanson allowed six hits and two unearned in four and two-thirds innings. Chavarria worked the final two and a third innings, retiring seven of eight batters he faced to earn the victory.

Lee County strung together six hits in the final three innings to grab the lead, then they held on.

Hatcher went 1 for 3 with an RBI triple, while Logsdon and Suiter both added RBI singles. Bryant and Phillips combined for two hits, a run and three stolen bases. Spencer Hanson started the come-from-behind win with a hard single to left center field.

Lee County returns home to play host to Westover Tuesday night at 6 p.m.
