MOULTRIE — The Lee County baseball team split a pair of games in the Georgia/Florida Challenge Saturday at Colquitt County High School on Saturday.

The Trojans defeated Lincoln (Fla.) 2-1 but dropped their first game of the season to Suwannee 6-3 in the nightcap. Lee’s record is 5-1.

In the victory over Lincoln, the Trojans scored the go-ahead run in the top of the seventh on an error.

Josh Hatcher started on the mound and got a no-decision after allowing just a run on two hits in four innings. Tyler Simon earned the win, working three scoreless innings in relief.

Lee took a 1-0 advantage in the second on Malik Spratling’s homer before Lincoln later tied the game.

Jonathan Logsdon, Spratling, Simon, Garrett Suiter and Brenton Phillips each managed a hit for the Trojans.

In the second game, Lee County out-hit Suwannee seven to six but it wasn’t enough. The Bulldogs took the lead in the third and never looked back.

Spratling led the Trojan offense, going 1 for 3 with two RBIs.
