Lee County’s dramatic overtime victory Friday over Northside-Warner Robins keeps the Trojans in first place in the Georgia Sports Writers Association GHSA Class 6A poll.

Fourteen of the 16 writers voting this week put Lee County in top spot. The top three spots remain unchanged, with second-place Tucker and third-place Mays each receiving a first-place vote.

Northside, which entered the week in fourth and took Lee County to overtime on a 59-yard field goal by Cory Munson, dropped one spot to fifth. Dalton climbed one spot to fourth.

Lee County beat Northside 16-13 on Jase Orndorff’s 15-yard touchdown pass to Josh Asbury. The Trojans travel to unranked Valdosta on Friday and are off next week before closing the regular season Nov. 3 at home against seventh-ranked Coffee.

No other Albany-area teams received votes. Lowndes moves into first place in Class 7A following Grayson’s loss to Archer.
