AMERICUS — The Lee County defense came out Friday night and once again made it tough for its opponent to score.

For the third straight game, the Trojans allowed less than 13 points and earned a victory, beating Americus-Sumter 36-10 at Finklea-Robinson Stadium.

“Americus-Sumter played tough in the first half,” Lee coach Dean Fabrizio said. “We had a lot of big penalties, but we were able to overcome them.”

Mark Robinson finished with two rushing touchdowns in the game, while quarterback Jase Orndorff threw for two more.

Josh Asbury and Zach Mason were on the receiving end of Orndorff’s touchdowns. Giavonte Daniels added a rushing touchdown.

Lee County (3-0) will play host to Luella next Friday in its home opener. The Trojans were scheduled to play host Hardaway last week at home, but Hurricane Hermine forced the postponement.
