Lee County moves up to third in writers’ poll

Lee County will begin the postseason ranked third in the Georgia Sports Writers Association GHSA Class 6A poll.

The Trojans (9-1) climbed one spot following last week’s 23-7 win over previous No. 3 Coffee.

Tucker is ranked first, followed by Mays.

Lee County hosts Richmond Hill on Friday in the first round of the playoffs.

Mitchell County, which wrapped up an unbeaten run through Region 1-1A play last week, did not crack the top 10 in Class 1A but now has six points in the poll. The Eagles are off until next week’s second round.
