LEESBURG — Lee County High School senior Tyler McConnell was named the Region 1-AAAAAA Player of the Year Friday. McConell’s coach, Kirven Davis, was named the region’s coach of the year.

McConnell played a key role in helping the Trojans win the Region 1-AAAAAA Tournament and make the second round of the Georgia High School Association state tournament.

Davis helped the Trojans navigate through a tough season that included the loss of several transfers and some key injuries.

Lee County’s TJ Harris was also named to the all-region first team. Cameron Colvin and Terrian Wester were named to the second team.

On the girls side, Lee’s Passion Thomas was named to the first team, while Deambria Abner was named to the second team.

Charisma Barner, Amanda Kelley and Kiera Wright were named honorable mention.
