The Pelham Hornets girls basketball team had a productive weekend defeating both Miller Count and Mitchell County.

Friday night Pelham got the 63-29 win over Miller County. Mahogany Randall exploded for 30 points in the contest. Shernell Byrd chipped in with 11.

Pelham followed that big with up with a 60-41 win over Mitchell County. Randall and Willeshia Kemp each had 17 and Takashi Jenkins 15 for Pelham.

Jamia Mobley led the way for Mitchell with 16 points followed by Nakiya Gardland with nine.

Pelham boys split decisions

The Pelham boys basketball team split this weekend. Friday night they defeated

Miller County 69-26. Kendrick Patterson led the Hornets with 12 points, followed by Keshawn Simpson with 11 and Dewqun Jones with nine.

The Hornets lost a tough one to Mitchell County Saturday, 76-74.

Jared Jones was the leading scorer for Mitchell with 17, followed by Jadakiss Harvey with 14 and Anthony Mcintyre with 13.

Pelham was led by Dewaun Jones, who with a game-high 25. Keshawn Simpson finished with 12 points and Darrell Starling 11.
