CORDELE — Terrell Academy took over first-place in the Georgia Independent Schools Association Region 3-AA standings with a 70-55 victory at Crisp Academy Friday night. The Eagles avenged their earlier season loss to the Wildcats.

Terrell improved to 15-4 overall and 6-1 in region play.

Jalin Wimberly finished with 25 points to lead the Eagles, while Jared Donalson added 18. Reese Bell finished with 12.

Terrell will play at Westwood Tuesday night.

Deerfield-Windsor boys 57, Tiftarea 22

After falling to Southland in a key GISA Region 3-AAA game Tuesday night, the Deerfield-Windsor boys rolled to a victory at Tiftarea in Chula.

The Knights took control early, building a 29-9 lead at halftime, then they held the Panthers to just one point in the third quarter.

Daniel Ramsey led all scorers with 17 points, while Ethan Merritt added six points.

The Knights will play host to Westfield Saturday at 5:30 p.m. in a nonregion game.

Westwood boys 85, Southwest Georgia Academy 73

The Westwood boys outlasted Southwest Georgia Academy for a key region victory.

Jonte Harris led the Wildcats (9-9, 4-3) with 23 points. Dis’Arrius Robinson and Jacob Singleton scored 20 points each, while John Dean Davis finished with eight.

Tiftarea girls 73, Deerfield-Windsor 67

The Deerfield-Windsor girls dug themselves an early deficit and dropped a critical 73-67 GISA Region 3-AAA game against Tiftarea.

Hannah Mills led the Lady Knights with 17 points, while Lila Lanier added 16. Emilee Foy finished with 15 points, while Destiny Reed added nine.

Deerfield-Windsor will play host to Westfield Saturday at 4 p.m.

Westwood girls 75, Southwest Georgia 17

Karlie Jones pulled down a double-double to help the Westwood girls beat Southwest Georgia Academy in Damascus. Jones finished with 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to help the Lady Wildcats (19-1, 7-0 GISA Region 3-AA) to their 19th straight victory.

Gracie Pollock led Westwood in scoring at 20 points, while LeeAnn Bentley added nine points and Jenson Jones tossed in eight.

Westwood will play host to Terrell Academy Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m.
