WARNER ROBINS – The No. 2-ranked Lee County Trojans built a 41-0 halftime lead Friday night against Northside Warner Robins and breezed to a 55-7 region win over the Eagles. The win gives Lee County the Region 2-AAAAA championship and the top spot coming out of the region for the upcoming playoffs.

University of Georgia commit Ousmane Kromah scored twice in the first quarter to start the rout but six other Trojans found the end zone as the Trojans put most players onto the field at some point.

Even the defense got into the scoring column when linebacker Justyn Tankersly recovered a fumble and scored for the Trojans.

Lee County (9-0) will host No. 8-ranked Houston County (6-3) and University of Southern California commit Antwann Hill for the final regular season game. Hill, 6’5″, 220, is Georgia’s top passer with 2,656 yards this season. The Bears lost to Thomas County Central Friday night, securing Lee County’s top spot before the two teams play.

Worth County 62 Jeff Davis 17

SYLVESTER – The No. 7-ranked Worth County Rams (6-3) rolled up 569 yards on offense and scored nine touchdowns Friday night for a big 62-17 region win over Jeff Davis. After falling behind 3-0 early, the Rams scored six times before halftime to lead 41-10 at the break.

The Rams’ offense usually relies heavily on the passing of sophomore quarterback Lyndon Worthy, but Friday night, the rushing game stole the show. Junior running backs Tre’shaun Jones and Kaden Chester both shined. Jones carried 18 times for 186 yards and a touchdown while Chester carried 20 times for 146 yards and three touchdowns.

Worthy, the area’s top passer, completed 11 of 13 passes for 223 yards.

The Rams have one final regular season game against Brantley County on November 8 in Sylvester. The game was rescheduled after Hurricane Helene came through South Georgia.

Maclay 28 Deerfield-Windsor 21

TALLAHASSEE – Deerfield-Windsor quarterback Lane Sceals threw three touchdown passes and amassed 265 yards of passing but the Knights fell to Maclay 28-21 Friday night in Tallahassee.

The Knights finished the regular season with a 7-3 record and are ranked No. 4 in the MaxPreps rankings. That means the Knights will host Lakeview (9-1) of Gainesville for the first round of the state playoffs on November 8.

Sceals completed 22 of 37 passing attempts and threw touchdown passes to Gabe Daniel, Boyd Pollock, and Jake Hatcher but Maclay’s defense sacked Sceals five times.

Liam Elliot led the Knight defense with 11 tackles. Cole Jones and Grier Morey grabbed nine tackles each.
