The New York Jets and running back Isaiah Crowell reportedly reached agreement on a three-year contract on Tuesday.
Financial terms weren’t immediately available.
The 25-year-old can’t officially sign with the Jets until the free-agency period begins on Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET.
A former undrafted free agent, Crowell rushed for 3,118 yards and 21 touchdowns in four seasons with the Cleveland Browns. He gained a career-best 952 yards in 2016 and rushed for 853 yards last season.
Crowell expressed frustration with the play calling last season when the Browns went 0-16.
Crowell also had 96 receptions for 770 yards and one score during his NFL career. He caught a career-best 40 passes in 2016.
The Jets were looking to add a running back after the retirement of Matt Forte.
