The Philadelphia 76ers may have missed out on LeBron James, but on Monday the club did manage to hold on to one of its own.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the 76ers have re-signed free-agent guard JJ Redick to a one-year deal in the neighborhood of $12 million to $13 million.

In his first season in Philadelphia, Redick averaged career highs in points (17.1) and rebounds (2.5). He also made 42 percent of his 3-point shots and more than 90 percent of his free throws, starting in all 70 regular-season games in which he played.

His 18.2 points per game in the 2018 playoffs were the best mark in his postseason career.

The 34-year-old Redick has averaged 12.4 points, 2.0 assists and 2.0 rebounds in his 12-year career, playing for Orlando, Milwaukee, the Los Angeles Clippers and the 76ers.

It was announced on Sunday that James agreed to a four-year, $154 million contract with the Los Angeles Lakers. There were reports Redick could be one of the players joining James in purple and gold. Instead, he is staying with the team that made one of the hardest pushes to get James.
