Sherwood Christian advances to GICAA soccer finals

The Sherwood Christian boys and girls soccer teams will play for GICAA Division I championships Friday in Peachtree City after winning semifinal games Tuesday.
Sherwood’s girls beat Skipstone in penalty kicks after finishing regulation and overtime scoreless. Ivey Evans, Joy Kendrick, Laura Catherine Todd, Hannah Huckaby and Elizabeth Montgomery were the shootout participants, with Natalie Brock coming up with the win in goal.
The Sherwood boys beat Creekside 3-1. Collin Phillips, Anthony Adams and Landon Davidson scored for Sherwood.
Sherwood’s girls face Young Americans Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Sherwood boys and Community Christian will follow at 7:30 p.m. Both championship matches will take place at MOBA Soccer Academy in Peachtree City.
