GHSA baseball playoffs to kick off this Friday

The first round of the Georgia High School Association state baseball playoffs begins on Friday.

Lee County will play host to Powder Springs’ McEachern in its best-of-three series that begins with a doubleheader Friday at 5 p.m. If a third game is needed, it would be played Saturday at noon.

Baconton Charter begins its best-of-three series against visiting Lanier County on Friday with a doubleheader at 2 p.m.

Darton baseball falls to ABAC

The Darton State College baseball team fell to ABAC 3-1 Tuesday night. The loss overshadowed a strong performance from pitcher Sam Goberdhan, who allowed just one earned run in eight innings.

Kendall Herron went 2-for-4 with a triple and two stolen bases. Colton Thomas went 4-for-5 with three stolen bases.

The Cavaliers will play host to ABAC Friday at 6:30 p.m.

Deerfield-Windsor boys soccer team falls

The Deerfield-Windsor boys soccer team lost in the second round of the Georgia Independent Schools Association state soccer tournament Wednesday night at Westminster-Augusta. The Knights lost 2-0. No other details were avilable.
