Westover junior Sydney Donaldson stands atop the podium after winning the Class AAA girls high jump state championship Thursday at the University of Georgia in Athens. Donaldson cleared a personal-best height that moved her into Georgia’s top 50 rankings this season. She also earned a seventh-place finish in the long jump to help lead Westover’s efforts at the GHSA state track and field championships. The Lady Patriots also received a fifth-place finish in the girls discus throw from sophomore Janiyah Winslow, while Westover’s boys 4×400-meter relay team placed seventh.
