Ten Lee County wrestlers place in Class AAAAAA Sectional

Ten Lee County wrestlers placed in the top seven in the Class AAAAAA Sectional A tournament on Saturday.
The event’s top qualifiers advance to the Feb. 10-12 GHSA Traditional Wrestling State Championships at the Macon Centreplex.
Five Trojans were sectional runner-up in their weight classes — Alexander Tabb at 113 pounds, Riley Brewer at 120, Dallas Brewer at 145, Justin Gregory at 152 and Bradyn Suber at 182.
Lee’s Drake McMinn was third at 138, and teammate Aiden Chilson was third at 170. Teammates Davis Chatman (fifth, 160), Karol Olalde (sixth, 106) and Jose Olalde (seventh, 126) also were placers.
In AAAA Sectional A, Dougherty’s Stantavious Smith was fifth at 285, Malachi Greene was sixth at 220 and JaHaven Brown was seventh at 145. Westover’s Cameron Griffin took seventh at 160.
In A Section B, Pelham got top-eight finishes from Barrett Drinkwater (fifth, 132) and Ja’Vin Jones (eighth, 195). In Girls Sectional 1, Pelham had two placers — Jacklyn Lovos (second at 142) and Kirsten Miskell (third at 122).
