ALBANY — The Terrell Academy Lady Eagles finished third in the Region 3-AAA track and field championships Wednesday at Hugh Mills Stadium, while the boys’ team placed fifth overall.

Anna Kate Miller led the way for the Lady Eagles, winning both the 800-meter and 1600-meter runs and finishing second in the 3200-meter. The 1600-meter relay team — Libby Graham, Hadley Webb, Ella Melvin, and Jenna DeBary — also delivered a strong performance, winning their race by 14 seconds over second-place Deerfield-Windsor.

Ella Melvin added another individual title with a victory in the 400-meter dash.

Terrell Academy also picked up key second-place finishes from Jenna DeBary in the long jump and Libby Graham in the 300-meter hurdles.

Athletes who placed in the top four of their events at the region meet will now advance to the GIAA state championships, set for May 1–3 at Strong Rock Christian School in Locust Grove.
