Last meeting: Lee County won 37-7 in 2016.

Notes: As much success as Lee County, the top-ranked team in GHSA Class 6A, has enjoyed the past few years, that hasn’t translated to success against Thomas County Central … The Trojans’ only wins over the Yellow Jackets came in 2005 (42-41 in Thomasville) and last year in Leesburg … The teams did not meet in 2014 and 2015 … Graduation and injury problems resulted in a somewhat slow start for TCC, with the Yellow Jackets losing 41-7 to Thomasville and 24-0 to Cairo before escaping Hugh Mills Stadium on Sept. 7 with a 33-32 win over Monroe.

Southwest Georgia

at Westwood

Game time: 7:30 p.m., Friday.

Records: Southwest Georgia 3-2; Westwood 2-4.

Last week: Southwest Georgia vs. Fullington cancelled, Brookwood beat Westwood 24-7.

Series history: Southwest Georgia leads 25-24.

Last meeting: Westwood won 18-6 in 2016.

Notes: This game is the first game of region play in GISA Region 3-2A, a three-team region that also includes Terrell Academy … Westwood has won six of the past seven meetings … Cam Granger has sparked Southwest Georgia’s ground game, racking up 754 yards and 10 touchdowns in five games.

Terrell County

at Mitchell County

Records: Terrell County 0-4, 0-3 GHSA Region 1-1A; Mitchell County 3-1, 3-0.

Last week: Seminole County beat Terrell County 36-22; Mitchell County beat Miller County 34-23.

Series history: Mitchell County leads 39-8-1.

Last meeting: Mitchell County won 36-22 in 2016.

Notes: Mitchell County won last year’s game after having a 12-year winning streak in the series broken in 2015 … Mitchell County is looking to keep pace with Pelham and Randolph-Clay atop the Region 1-1A standings, while Terrell County is seeking its first win of the season … Mitchell County’s sophomore quarterback, James Thomas, has thrown for 575 yards and seven touchdowns and has run for 488 yards and two scores.

Westover

at Carver-Columbus

Notes: Both teams are looking for region wins after dropping their region openers last week … After recording at least 375 yards of total offense in each of its first three games, Westover was held to 213 in its loss to Americus-Sumter … Each of Carver’s losses have been by 10 points or fewer.

Monroe

Notes: Monroe hasn’t seen action since dropping a 33-32 heartbreaker to Thomas County Central on Sept. 7 … Brooks County, a second-round playoff qualifier in Class 2A last year, has defeated two ranked teams so far this season in Clinch County and Pierce County.

Pelham

at Miller County
