EAST LANSING, Mich. — Miles Bridges and Joshua Langford led a balanced attack with 17 points apiece, and No. 2 Michigan State extended its winning streak to 11 games with a 102-60 thumping of Long Beach State on Thursday night.
Bridges also led the Spartans with nine rebounds. Nick Ward supplied 16 points, six rebounds and three blocks, and freshman Jaren Jackson contributed 13 points, six rebounds, four blocks and three steals for Michigan State (12-1).
Cassius Winston had 13 points and eight assists as the Spartans shot 60.9 percent from the field. Michigan State reached the 100-point mark in back-to-back games for the first time since 2004.
Gabe Levin’s 14 points led the 49ers (5-9), who were playing their highest-rated opponent since they lost to No. 2 Texas in December 2009.
No. 8 Texas A&M 89, Buffalo 73
COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Duane Wilson scored 23 points and added 11 assists as Texas A&M pulled away in the final minutes to defeat Buffalo.
Five Aggies scored in double figures. Savion Flagg had 21 points and nine rebounds, Tyler Davis hit for 16 and grabbed 11 rebounds, Tonny Trocha-Morelos tallied 12 points, and Jay Jay Chandler scored 10. Wilson hit all nine of his free throws as Texas A&M (11-1) finished 28 of 33 from the line.
CJ Massinburg led the Bulls (7-5) with 20 points and eight rebounds.
No. 16 Purdue 97, Tennessee State 48
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Carsen Edwards scored 26 points on 10-of-14 shooting, hitting 6 of 8 from 3-point range, as Purdue coasted to victory over Tennessee State.
Edwards finished one point shy of his career high, set against IUPUI on Dec. 10, and did not see the floor for the final 9:17. P.J. Thompson added 17 points — 16 in the first half — as well as four rebounds and three assists for the Boilermakers (12-2).
Dakota Mathias added seven points and a team-high 10 assists despite an off-shooting night for Purdue. Mathias, who entered the game shooting 51.7 percent from the field, finished 2 of 10. Delano Spencer scored 13 points for the Tigers (5-6).
No. 18 Arizona 73, Connecticut 58
TUCSON, Ariz. — Rawle Alkins scored a game-high 20 points to lead Arizona over Connecticut for its 47th straight nonconference home victory.
Allonzo Trier was back in the lineup after getting a scare on Monday, when he sustained a bruised knee after colliding with a North Dakota State player. He missed the final 10 minutes of that game. Trier finished with 15 points Thursday for the Wildcats (10-3).
Terry Larrier led the Huskies with 18 points. Jalen Adams added 13 points, and Christian Vital had 11 points and seven assists for Connecticut (7-4).
No. 20 Cincinnati 81, Cleveland State 62
HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. — Gary Clark scored 18 points and Jarron Cumberland added 14 to lift Cincinnati over Cleveland State.
The Bearcats (11-2) finished the game on a 21-8 run to extend the nation’s longest active home-court winning streak to 33. Cincinnati’s Kyle Washington scored 14 points to eclipse 1,000 for his career.
Freshman guard Tyree Appleby scored 16 points and Kenny Carpenter added 11 for the Vikings (3-8), who fell to 0-7 on the road.
No. 24 Florida State 98, Southern Miss 45
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — P.J. Savoy had 17 points and seven rebounds, and Florida State made 19 3-pointers — one shy of a school record — in a rout of Southern Miss.
Trent Forrest dished out a game-high 12 assists and scored seven points for the Seminoles (11-1), who next play Dec. 30 at No. 4 Duke. Savoy made five 3-pointers and added a team-high seven rebounds. MJ Walker also made five treys en route to 15 points.
Eddie Davis and Anfernee Hampton scored eight points apiece for the Eagles (7-5), who shot 29.5 percent.
