ATHENS, Ga. — Three members of Georgia’s track and field teams have earned Southeastern Conference weekly honors following the second weekend of indoor meets, according to a league announcement Tuesday.

Sophomore Christopher Morales Williams was named the Men’s Co-Runner of the Week; graduate transfer Alex Kolesnikoff was named the Men’s Co-Field Athlete of the Week; and first year sprinter Jehlani Gordon was named the Men’s Freshman of the Week following The Track at New Balance Collegiate Showdown in Boston over the weekend.

Last week, Riyon Rankin was awarded the Bulldogs’ first SEC weekly honor after garnering SEC Freshman of the Week honors thanks to his performance in the high jump at the Clemson Invitational.

Morales Williams, a native of Vaughan, Ontario, edged teammate Hossam Hatib with a personal record 46.05 to win the 400-meter dash. Morales Williams’ time ranks No. 2 in the NCAA this year, is the under-23 national Canadian record, stands No. 3 in the world in 2024 and ranks No. 5 in the UGA record books.

Kolesnikoff, a native of Strathfield, Australia, launched his second shot put attempt a personal best 20.45 meters/67 feet, 1 ¼ inches to win his second consecutive meet as a Bulldog. This performance made him the national leader, put him at No. 5 on the 2024 world list (youngest performer by four years in the top five) and shot to No. 2 on UGA’s all-time top-10 list (trailing Denzel Comenentia’s school record by only 10.5 inches).

Gordon, a native of Yallahs, Jamaica, collected his second straight win in the 60m to open his career thanks to a 6.63. While his 6.60 from the opener ranks ninth nationally, his time from the weekend would still put him 14th in the country with the top time for any freshman.

Up Next: Georgia travels to the site of the SEC Indoor Championships in Fayetteville, Ark., on Thursday in preparation for the Razorback Invitational, which will run Friday and Saturday.
