Tuskegee Sweeps Albany State

TUSKEGEE – The Tuskegee Golden Tigers outscored the Albany State Golden Rams 13-1 during the last two minutes of the game Monday night to come from behind and beat the Rams 63-61. The Rams had led by nine with two minutes left to play, but the Tigers ralled and a layup by Myles Thomas with 12 seconds remaining gave Tuskegee the win. It was the second straight SIAC loss for Albany State.
Jared Harrington had a game-high 20 points for Albany State (3-10, 2-2) while Michael Green added 18 points on 7-of-11 shooting.
Napoleon Harris grabbed a game-high nine rebounds.
Thomas ended with 19 points for Tuskegee (5-5, 3-1).
Prior to the men’s game, the Lady Golden Rams fell to Tuskegee also.
A strong performance from the bench was not enough for the Golden Rams as they loss to the Golden Tigers, 86-76.
The ASU bench chipped in 27 points as the offense scored 18 second chance points and 26 points in the paint.
Alexandria James had a game-high 21 points and eight rebounds for Albany State (3-9, 2-2). Ashley Johnson added 14 points.
James is averaging a team-high 12.8 points per game so far this season.
Jade Wilson led Tuskegee (8-3, 4-0) with 19 points and eight rebounds while India Blakely added 18 points.
The Golden Rams will get an extended break for the holiday before hosting LeMoyne-Owen College on Saturday, December 29th. Game time is scheduled for 1:00 pm.
