LEESBURG —Tyler Simon’s walkoff single helped Lee County maintain its grip atop the Region 1-AAAAAA standings with a 3-2, eight-inning victory over Coffee Tuesday night.

The Trojans improved to 16-8 overall, 6-1 in region play. Lee will play host to Veterans Wednesday night in a nonregion game at 6 p.m. The Trojans have just five region games left in the regular season, including a doubleheader at Coffee on Friday.

Lee took an early 1-0 lead when Garret Suiter reached on a fielder’s choice.

Reid Hanson earned the win on the mound. He pitched eight innings, allowing two runs, four hits, while striking out one.

Jonathan Logsdon, Simon, Malik Spratling, Chris Monzon and Josh Hatcher all had one hit to lead Lee County.
