Virginia unanimous No. 1; Michigan jumps to No. 7 in AP poll

Virginia was voted unanimous No. 1 and Michigan jumped to No. 7 after winning Big Ten tournament in The Associated Press Top 25 poll released Monday.
The Cavaliers (28-2) earned all 65 first-place votes from the national media panel after finishing four games ahead in the Atlantic Coast Conference regular-season standings.
Virginia was No. 1 for the fourth straight week, acquiring more first-place votes each time in the AP poll.
Villanova (27-4) is No. 2 after jumping over Xavier (27-4). The Wildcats beat the Musketeers twice this season, but Xavier won the Big East regular-season title by one game over Villanova.
Michigan State (29-4) dropped two spots to No. 4, followed by Duke (25-6), Gonzaga (28-4) and Michigan (28-7), Cincinnati (27-4), Kansas (24-7) and Purdue (28-6) to round out the top 10.
The Wolverines jumped eight spots after beating Michigan State 75-64 on Saturday and Purdue 75-66 on Sunday to win a second straight Big Ten title.
