The Worth County Rams baseball team lost its first game of the season Monday night. The lost the lead late in a 5-3 defeat at Fitzgerald on Monday.

An error in the bottom of the sixth scored a pair of Fitzgerald runs to give the Purple Hurricanes the lead for good. The Rams (7-1) lost despite out-hitting Fitzgerald seven to two.

Fitzgerald tied the game at three in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Michail Howell took the loss for Worth County Rams Varsity. He tossed four and two-thirds innings, allowing three runs, one hit, and striking out seven.

Riley Kelly and Jeremiah Reddell each collected multiple hits. Jack Fletcher, Reddell and Howell each drove in a run.
