Worth County defeated Monroe 12-5 on Tuesday at the Paul Eames Sports Complex to win its eighth straight game.

The Rams improved to 17-3 overall and stayed in first-place in Region 1-AAA with a 6-1 record,

Worth County scored on a wild pitch, an error and a single by Braden King in the first inning to grab the early lead.

The Rams scored five runs in the fourth inning. The big inning was highlighted by a single from Jeremiah Reddell, a single by King, a double by Gabe Goff and a single by Michail Howell.

Howell earned the win on the mound. He tossed four innings, surrendering three runs, five hits and struck out two.

Worth County had 11 hits in the game. DJ Edwards, King, Goff and Seth Newell each collected multiple hits. Newell, Goff, King, and Edwards each collected two hits to lead the way.
