SYLVESTER — The Worth County baseball team jumped out to an early lead over Early County and took home a 6-2 victory on Friday at Pope Park.

The Rams improved to 3-0 on the season.

Three Worth County players smashed homers in the first inning — Hunter Goodwin, Seth Newell and Gabe Goff.

Goodwin’s homer scored a pair of runs. The junior also earned the win on the mound. He threw six innings, gave up two runs, five hits, struck out seven and walking one.

Worth County collected eight hits. Riley Kelly and Newell each collected multiple hits. Newell, Goodwin and Goff each drove in two runs to lead the offense.
