Second annual Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk in Preston to be held in November
Registration for the 5th annual Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk in Preston, GA, opens May 1.

PRESTON — Registration for the 5th annual Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk in Preston opens on May 1.
The Tunnel to Towers Foundation (T2T), established in memory of fallen 9/11 firefighter Stephen Siller, has a mission to honor and support first responders and the military, approved plans to hold its second annual Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk in Preston on Nov. 15.
Since 9/11, T2T has been helping America’s heroes by providing mortgage-free homes to Gold Star and Fallen First Responder families with young children and by building specially-adapted smart homes for catastrophically injured veterans and first responders. The organization also is committed to eradicating veteran homelessness and helping America to “Never Forget Sept. 11, 2001.”
Participants will be able to register online, and non-runners can sign up for the brand new cornhole tournament. Kids will enjoy a 40-yard Donut Dash prior to the 5k, so sign them up, too.
Participants can compete to raise the most funds and recruit the most friends to their team for a chance to win a goody basket full of donations from sponsors of the event.
The Preston 5K Run & Walk will be held at the Centerpoint Schoolhouse at 3420 County Road 124 in Preston. Participants will enjoy live music by Daniel Houze from Mississippi. There also will be free activities like bounce houses, massages for participants, face painting and more. Every participant will receive a medal and T-shirt (with early registration).
The Preston 5K Run & Walk is the latest of more than 80 events in a national series of 5Ks and tower climbs held all around the United States in support of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
If interested in participating, volunteering, donating or sponsoring, contact Volunteer Race Director Casie Dring at [email protected] or call (941) 720-2816.
