ALBANY — An ambulance with the Dougherty County Emergency Medical Service was involved in a crash with another vehicle at the intersection of Moultrie Road and Liberty Expressway Wednesday, but no injuries were reported.
According to Dougherty County Police, the ambulance, which was en route to an accident, was traveling through the intersection with full siren and emergency lights shortly before 9 a.m. as a 2010 Acadia driven by Kimberly White, 29, exited the expressway, drove past another vehicle which had stopped for the ambulance and entered the intersection.
The collision affected the driver’s front side of the Acadia and the front of the ambulance, police officials say.
The three EMS employees in the ambulance, White and her two children, who were passengers in the Acadia, didn’t require medical treatment, officials say.
According to police, White was charged with failure to yield to emergency vehicles and improper passing.
