LIVE OAK, Fla. — Officials with Live Nation Entertainment announced this week that the dates have been set for the 12th Wanee Music Festival at the Spirit of Suwanee Music Park here.

The popular festival, hosted for its first 10 years by the Allman Brothers Band, will be held April 14-16. Wanee 2016 will again include the Wednesday Happy Hour gathering for early arrivers on April 13.

The Allmans ended their long touring schedule with a series of shows at the famed Beacon Theatre at the end of 2014, so they were no longer together to serve as Wanee hosts last year. Ironically, though, most of the members of the band performed at the Live Oak festival, Gregg Allman as a solo act; guitarists Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks with their respective bands, Gov’t Mule and the Tedeschi Trucks Band; and drummer Jaimoe with Jaimoe’s Jasssz Band.

Alternative/Southern rockers Widespread Panic and soul greats Earth, Wind & Fire were also among the featured artists at Wanee ‘15.

Additional Wanee ticket and lineup information will be released soon.

Regional music fans, especially those who like country music, will want to be logged on Saturday morning at 10 when a limited number of advance tickets go on sale for the three-day Rock the Ocean Tortuga Music Festival in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Headliners for the fest, scheduled April 15-17, are Blake Shelton, Tim McGraw and Dierks Bentley, with performances also scheduled by Lynyrd Skynyrd, Sam Hunt, Thomas Rhett, Billy Currington, Randy Houser, Kip Moore, Chris Janson and dozens of others.

Tickets, which are $189 for general admission, $789 for VIP access and $1,299 for Super VIP access, will be available at www.tortugamusicfestival.com. Tortuga Fest 2015’s early-bird advance tickets sold out in 45 minutes.
