EMORY MCKENZIE
Position: Quarterback
School/Year: Westover/Jr.
Why he’s here:Last week’s Player of the Week had an even bigger week to lead Westover last Friday in a 29-27 overtime victory over Bainbridge. Not only did he score what turned out to be the game-winning 2-point conversion run, he rushed for 101 yards on 15 carries with a touchdown. He also was 13 of 21 passing for 234 yards and three touchdowns. He threw passes to seven different players.
GARET MORRELL
Position: Quarterback
School/Year: Lee County/Jr.
Why he’s here: Morrell helped Lee County to a second consecutive big Region 1-AAAAAA victory with a 40-23 victory at Camden County, helping the Trojans clinch a playoff berth. The junior finished with 249 yards passing on 16 of 30 and threw four touchdown passes. Morrell has passed for 1,766 yards in eight games this season.
MILIK RHODES
Position: Linebacker/running back
School/Year: Mitchell County/Jr.
Why he’s here: Rhodes played a major role in helping Mitchell County defeat Calhoun County in a key Region 1-A game. The junior finished with 11 total tackles, six of them solo. He also added two tackles for loss.
JYSANTI RICHARDSON
Position: Wide receiver/defensive back
School/Year: Westover/Sr.
Why he’s here: Richardson was all over the field Friday night in Westover’s 29-27 overtime victory over Bainbridge. The senior recorded double figures in tackles on defense, then he caught five passes for 125 yards and two touchdowns, including a 15-yarder on the first play of overtime. Richardson also caught a 20-yard touchdown pass in the game.

The Albany City Commission compromised between six months and 18 months to set a moratorium of 12 months on permitting data centers in the city. The resolution approved in a unanimous vote allows for a six-month extension.
