Former President Jimmy Carter is scheduled to teach Sunday School this Sunday at Maranatha Baptist Church in Plains. The lesson will begin at 10 a.m. Sanctuary doors open at 8:30 a.m. and an orientation for visitors begins at 9 a.m.

EVENTS

Mt. Mariah Free Will Baptist Church will celebrate its annual Birth Day celebration at 6 p.m. Sunday. Food will be served after the program.

The General Missionary Society of Hines Memorial CME Church will conduct a Christmas program and deliver gifts to the senior citizens at Slater King ADH Center at 10 a.m. Thursday. The center is located at 400 W. Highland Ave. Also, the Society will deliver Christmas gifts to residents of Palmyra Nursing Home, 1904 Palmyra Road, at 10 a.m. on Dec. 22. Hines Memorial CME Church is located at 408 N. Madison St.

Sweetwater Ministries will sponsor a Christmas Extravaganza Gospel Sing today and Saturday at The Barn in Andersonville. Today’s sing will feature South Georgia Quartet at 6 p.m. followed by The Dove Brothers and The Dixie Echoes. On Saturday, Dayspring Trio will sing followed by The Old Paths.
