Troy University’s Albany site to hold graduation Thursday

ALBANY — The Albany campus of Troy University will hold graduation exercises Thursday at 10 a.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, located at 901 S. Westover Blvd. The public is invited to attend.
The graduation speaker will be John Culbreath, retired former Dougherty County school superintendent. Culbreath is an educational consultant and has remained an active member of the community, serving on various boards including the Consumer Credit Counseling Service of SWGA, Strive2Thrive, the Phoebe Putney Hospital board (Chairman) and many others.
More than 20 graduates are scheduled to participate in this mid-year commencement ceremony.
Founded in 1887 as a normal school to teach teachers, Troy University today is a public institution serving traditional and nontraditional students in class and online and providing a wide variety of academic programs from the associate to the doctoral level. There are four campuses in Alabama – Troy, Dothan, Montgomery, and Phenix City.
The Albany site of Troy University is a part of the Atlanta District of TROY’s Global Campus which consists of 27 TROY sites outside of Alabama – 21 in the U.S. and six located in Southeast Asia and the Middle East.
