ALBANY — Several business break-ins were reported early Thursday, reports from the Albany Police Department show.

Among them was an incident at Davpro Wireless and More at 311 W. Broad Ave. just before 2 a.m. Officers found a glass door at the front entrance shattered while responding to an alarm, a report on the incident said.

Officers found no one inside the business, but said that a large rock was in the middle of the floor. The owner of the business responded and said three watches, four wireless headsets, two Bluetooth devices and some phone cases were missing, the report said.

Surveillance video showed a man enter the store wearing a white shirt, gray sweat pants and black Nike shoes with a white check, the report said.

Reports show officers also responded to Southern Harvest Insurance Agency Inc. at 1132 Dawson Road just after 5 a.m.

In that incident, officers responded to a burglary alarm and the contact person at the scene said an unknown individual had entered the business. The last time she had seen the establishment intact was 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday, the report said. Officers noticed the window on the south wall had been broken and that the back door was open, the report said.

The report said desk drawers in the main office and the rear of the business were pulled out. Pictures were taken at the scene. There were no suspects or witnesses to the incident at the time of the report.

A break-in was also reported at around 6:30 a.m. on Thursday at Citi Trends at 303 S. Slappey Blvd.

The report said officers arrived at Citi Trends to find a glass door shattered and a trail of glass leading to a rock located about 20 feet from the door. A check of the business was conducted. The manager of the Citi Trends at East Oglethorpe Boulevard arrived and operated the camera system, which was when it was discovered that a man wearing a blue jacket, white shirt, green pants and black knit hat walked up to the door and looked around, reports said.

He appeared to look older in age with facial hair, the report said.

The man broke the glass and entered with a plastic bag in hand. He stood in partial camera view and filled the bag with watches. When he left the store, he was seen carrying clothing in his left arm, and went out the door while knocking out the glass, the report said.

The door was dusted for prints with negative results. The store manager arrived and said at least eight watches with a total value of $114 were missing, and that the damage to the door would cost around $300 to repair, the report said.

A report said a break-in at USA Restaurant Equipment was called in around 8:15 a.m. on Thursday.

Officers went to the business at 156 N. Slappey Blvd. The owner of the business also responded and told police the business closed at 7 p.m. the night before and that a broken gate and missing items were discovered at 7 a.m. Thursday, the report said.

The owner said cash was missing from an unlocked register, as was a pressure cooker located near the damaged gate. The scene was photographed for evidence, the report said.

All four cases remained active Friday. Those with information on crimes in the Albany area who would like to remain anonymous can call Albany Area CrimeStoppers at (229) 436-TIPS (8477).
