ALBANY — Gabriel McCoy has been arrested and charged with sexual battery after Albany police say he was charged with touching a 13-year-old child inappropriately. The alleged sexual battery was corroborated by a 13-year-old male witness, police say.
APD said that, on Nov. 11, its officers responded to the 2000 block of Leonard Avenue in reference to sexual battery involving a 13-year-old female juvenile. The juvenile told officers that McCoy, 22, touched her inappropriately without her permission.
After further investigation, police said that McCoy asked the male juvenile to hook him up with one of his juvenile friends. He later attempted to contact a 13-year-old female via social media in an attempt to develop a relationship.
After a police interview, McCoy was charged with sexual battery and taken to the Dougherty County Jail.
Investigators said there may be more victims involved. Anyone who has any information in reference to this case is encouraged to call the Albany Police Department at (229) 431-2100.
